Virginia Marion Betts

Bedford – Miss Virginia M. Betts of Bedford, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Carleton Willard Village, Bedford. She was 91. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Harvey L. and Marion A. (Patterson) Betts, she was a lifelong resident. Until her retirement, Miss Betts was Director of Language Arts at Waltham High School. She began her teaching career in 1935 at Millis High School and joined the Waltham school system in 1945. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and Tufts University and belonged to the Tufts Alumnae Association. She leaves several cousins. Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newtonville. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 21 at 3:15 p.m. at Carleton-Willard Village, 100 Old Billerica Road, Bedford.
