Waltham – Mrs. Virginia J. (Kelley) Kelley, of Waltham, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 81.
Virginia was born in Boston on November 10, 1929, a daughter of the late John R. and Eleanor (Mackey) Kelley, and was raised in Brookline. She moved to Waltham fifty-two years ago.
She was a graduate of Brookline High School and Lesley College in Cambridge. Until her retirement Virginia worked as a manager for the New England Telephone Company. Before that she worked as a substitute teacher at Waltham High School after having taught many years ago in the Worcester school system.
The wife of the late Richard T. Kelley, she leaves her children, Robert C. Kelley of New York City, Richard Timothy Kelley, Jr. of Sandwich, Jane Kelley Coffua and her husband, Curt, Sarah Kelley Davis, all of Waltham and John R. Kelley of Westford; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael and Timothy Kelley, Olivia and Daniel Coffua, Jennifer, Emily and Matthew Davis and Amy and Ashley Kelley and her daughters and son-in-law, Judith S. Kelley, Gary E. Davis and Christine A. Kelley.
Virginia was also the sister of the late Joan P. Condell.
Family and friends will honor and remember Virginia’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, March 23rd, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
