Virginia A. Kotsifas

April 30, 1923 — August 23, 2005

Mrs. Virginia A. (Keough) Kotsifas of West Newton died Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in her home. She was 82. Born in Boston, Mrs. Kotsifas had lived in West Newton since 1952. She was a graduate of Saint Charles School in Waltham. She had worked as a timer at the Waltham Watch Factory before becoming a draftsperson at the J.L. Thomson Company. Mrs. Kotsifas was the wife of the late Peter Kotsifas, the mother of the late Leonard B. Kotsifas, the mother in law of the late Evelyn Kotsifas, the daughter of the late Bernard P. and Harriet (Vancor) Keough, and the sister of the late Patricia Bourque. She is survived by her children Peter N. Kotsifas and his wife, Sandra, of Sturbridge and Mark K. Kotsifas and his wife, Kim, of Framingham; her brother, Raymond B. Keough of Colorado; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held on Friday, August 26, at 9 am from the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Bernard’s Church, 1523 Washington Street, Newton at 10 am. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, Inc., 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
