Waltham Mrs. Virginia A. (Dyer) Martin, of Waltham, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Maristhill Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 85. Born in Chelsea, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Foley) Dyer, she was raised in Revere where she graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1939. Virginia was a homemaker and had lived most of her life in Waltham before moving to Scituate in 1984. She moved back to Waltham in recent years. She was a longtime parishioner at Saint Lukes Church in Belmont where she taught CCD and had been active in the Waltham Junior Womens Club. She had also been a member and past president of the Scituate Womens Club. The wife of the late Alfred J. Martin, she leaves her children, Ann McSweeney of Scituate, Michael Martin and his wife, Ann, of Somerville, Dolores Green and her husband, John of Duxbury, Ginger Connearney and her husband, Steve, of Waltham, Jay Martin and his wife, Deborah, of Ashland, Brian Martin and his wife, Jean, of Hudson, Patrice McDonald and her husband, Edward, and Beth Martin, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Sarah Ryan, John and Gregory McSweeney, Patrice and Brian Martin, Jonna and Martin Green, Erin Connearney, Jessica, John, Thomas and Peter Martin, Kelly, Edward and Colleen McDonald; two great-grandchildren, Molly and Jane Ryan and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 8 a.m. Saturday, December 23rd, from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Lukes Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patricks Cemetery, Watertown.
