Waltham – Mrs. Virginia M. (Capoccia) (Maccio) Paquette, of Waltham, died on Thursday November 20, 2014 in the Blaire House of Milford surrounded by family. She was 91.
Virginia was born in Waltham on September 30, 1923, a daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Casinelli) Capoccia.
She always had a strong work ethic and as a young woman owned chickens, she would sell the eggs and her homemade pizza in order to be able to travel to Quebec and Montreal. She loved to cook and volunteered in the kitchens at both the Sons of Italy and the Espousal Retreat Center in Waltham. She was also creative and even obtained a patent for the 'kiddie cuff'. Virginia was a real estate agent for several years.
Her life was her family and she enjoyed going anywhere with them, from the White Mountains to the beach or even just a long drive, as long as they were together.
She was the wife of the late Alessander Maccio and is survived by her children, Laura Sullivan and her husband, Ronald, of Waltham and Mary Ann Cerqua of Hopkinton; her grandchildren, Susan Bent and her husband, Rodney, Steven Stewart, Sandra Stewart and her partner, Eugene Cody, Sheryl Robbins, Ronald Sullivan and his wife, Melanie, Vanessa Casella and her husband, Christopher, Robin Rose and her husband, Lesley and Timothy Sullivan and his partner, Alicia Lepardo; 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Anthony Capoccia, Mary Capoccia and Rita Vanaria.
Family and friends will honor and remember Virginia's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, November 23rd from 4 – 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
