Marlborough – Mrs. Vivian P. (Aucoin) Lefort, of Marlborough, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at New Horizons at Marlborough. She was 97.
Vivian was born in Somerville on April 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Ulysses and Lillian (Moore) Aucoin. Following her 1940 marriage to Arnold J. Lefort, the couple lived in Newton before making Waltham their home seven years later where they raised their family.
In 1980 Vivian and Arnold retired to Eastham where both were active volunteers in the community. Vivian was a longtime member of the Eastham Council on Aging. Their final move to Marlborough came in 1997. The pair enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage before Arnold's death on November 24, 1999.
Throughout her life Vivian was a terrific homemaker, a gourmet cook, and a talented painter and writer. She and her husband created great memories for their kids with annual summertime cross country trips. Vivian and Arnold loved to travel and visited all fifty states, every Canadian province and many European countries.
She leaves her children, Charlene D. Merritt and her husband, Ronald, of Maynard, Wayne R. Lefort and his wife, Marilyn, of Waltham and Gary A. Lefort and his wife, Phyllis, of Fort Myers, Florida; her grandchildren, Kari and Jeremy Lefort, Stacey Jones and Tim Lefort and her great-grandchildren, Teagan, Brynley and Ashlyn Jones.
Vivian was also a sister of the late Muriel Aucoin and Beverly Gaspari.
Family and friends will honor and remember Vivian's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 20th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
