Mr. Walter R. Flannery of Waltham died Thursday, March 18, 2010 in the Emerson Village Nursing Home in Watertown. He was 87. Walter was born in Boston on May 13, 1922, a son of the late Walter R. and Beatrice (Burns) Flannery.
He was a printing supervisor at the Fotobeam Corporation in Waltham until his retirement in 1996. Walter was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy J. (Bowman) Flannery and the brother of the late Edwin Flannery.
Walter is survived by his son, Richard C. Flannery of Bridgewater, his grandchildren, Jason, Brian, and Jennifer Flannery, his niece, Pamela Baker, and his nephews, Richard, Robert, and Rexford Rowley.
Family and friends will honor and remember Walter’s life by gathering in Newton Cemetery, Newton, where his graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am.
