Walter S. Higgins

Waltham – Mr. Walter S. ‘Sam’ Higgins III of Waltham died Thursday, October 30, 2003 in Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. <br><br>Born in Melrose, a son of the late Walter S., Jr. and Virginia (May) Higgins, he had lived in Waltham for the past 18 years. He worked in the security department of the Raytheon Company. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed outdoor activities including skiing, camping and mountain climbing.<br><br>He is survived by his wife, Paula E. (Bosworth) Higgins; two daughters, Melissa A. Higgins and Heather B. Higgins, both at home; his brother, Thomas Higgins and his wife June, of NH, formerly of Billerica; his sister, Patricia Morello of Saugus; his sister-in-law, Patricia Brooks of Maynard; his brother-in-law, William Bosworth of Billerica; and many nieces and nephews.<br><br>Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be private.<br><br>Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Higgins Children’s Fund, c/o Connie Braceland, Chart Bank, 1290 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02451.<br>
