Natick - Mr. Walter L. Madison, of Natick, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in the Metrowest Medical Center in Natick. He was 87. Born in Woodbine, Iowa, Walter had lived in Waltham since 1945 before moving to Natick this past April. Walter was a machinist for the Raytheon Company for thirty-two years. After that, he worked at The Joyce Funeral Home in Waltham for twenty years until his retirement at age 85. During World War II, he served with the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Prairie in the Pacific. He was the son of the late Arthur and Mabel (Belden) Madison and a brother of the late Howard and Carl Madison. Walter is survived by his wife, Louise M. (Harris) Madison; his daughter, Bonnie J. Stevens and her husband, Ken, of Natick; his son, James A. Madison and his wife, Betsy, of Ashland; his grandchildren, Sean Stevens, Melissa Escalante, Justin Madison, Brendan Madison, and Ryan Madison; his great-grandson, Ryan Stevens; his brother, Lester Madison of Oregon; his sisters, Vera Nye of Virginia, Marie Willer and Frances Mensching both of Iowa. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1 p.m. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
