Mr. Walter H. Paschal, of Waltham, died Sunday, April 28, 2019 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 74.
Born on October 22, 1944 in Bridgeport, Connecticut he was a son of the late Harold J. and Bertha G. (Turner) Paschal. He was raised and educated in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Walter met Brighton native Anna L. Riley as a young man when he attended a dance at the YMCA. They later married on January 9, 1965 and have been Waltham residents for over 45 years. And for over 54 years they were one another's best friend, companion and chauffeur on life's wonderful journey.
Walter worked as a truck driver for many years, primarily with Local #25 Teamsters Union retiring in 1995 due to illness.
He loved summers at Wadleigh Falls Campground in Lee, New Hampshire and snowmobiling in the winter. He was the number one supporter of his son's athletics as well his grandchildren. His son Walter is the girls' basketball coach for Framingham State University and they recently played against Salem State where his granddaughter, Courtney plays. He cheered enthusiastically and loyally for both teams. He congratulated his son on a great effort but was able to hug his granddaughter Courtney, as her 3-pointer won the game for her team!

Paschal (Joan) of Waltham; his grandchildren, Steven Cobb (Stephanie), Courtney Paschal, Abby and Logan Paschal; brother of the late John G.
