Salem – Mr. Wayne P. Lively, of Salem, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Salem Hospital. He was 72.
Wayne was born in Boston on June 29, 1940, a son of the late Francis and Dorothy (Dickson) Lively, and had lived in Somerville before moving to Waltham as a youngster. A Salem resident for the past eight years, he had also lived in Reading and in Marblehead. Until his retirement Wayne worked most of his life as a chef, first at the Cottage Crest Restaurant in Waltham and later at his own establishment, Diggers in Woburn.
He leaves his son, Derek F. Lively and his wife, Kim, of Newburyport; his grandchildren, Devin, Kalla, Emery and Jake Lively; his former wife, Claire M. (Allenberg) Lively of Waltham; his sister, Dorothy Roche of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was also a brother of the late Walter and Diane Lively.
Family and friends will honor and remember Wayne's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning, October 10th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
