Mr. Wesley G. Burge, of Waltham, died at Presentation Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Brighton on Saturday, September 17, 2022. He was 81.
Wesley was born on August 9, 1941 in Beverly, Massachusetts a son of the late William and Althea (Burgess) Burge. He grew up in New Hampshire and attended High School in Maine. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army.
Sergeant First Class Wesley Gordon Burge served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his career he received numerous decorations, medals, badges and commendations, including the Bronze Star. Wesley retired from military service in 1985, after 26 years of service to his country. After retiring from the Army, he worked for 15 years at Hanscom Air Force Base.
He was the beloved husband of 39 years to Yoon S. (Choi) Burge and is also survived by his children Kevin and Allen Burge, both of Maine; his siblings Darlene Hebert and David Burge; and his sister-in-law Catherine (Choi) Dubé.
Family and friends will honor and remember Wesley's life by gathering to visit at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 23rd in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by his funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
