Waltham Mr. William F. Callahan, of Waltham, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 76. Born in Waltham, son of the late John and Anna (Caulfield) Callahan, Bill was a lifelong resident and a 1949 graduate of Saint Charles High School in Waltham. After high school, he served with the United States Navy during the Korean War. Until his retirement, Bill worked as a senior plumber at Bentley College, in Boston, and later for twenty-five years at the new Waltham campus. After that he worked for many years as a van driver for the Waltham Senior Citizens. He belonged to the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 14 in Watertown and the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 in Waltham. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Zita M. (MacGillivray) Callahan; his children, Maryjane Callahan of North Chelmsford, William Callahan and his wife, Susan, of Braintree, Daniel Callahan and his wife, Patricia, of Boxboro, Noreen DAmico and her husband, Domenic, of Wayland and Shawn Callahan and his wife, Ulla, of Dublin, Ireland; his grandchildren, Kathleen, Meaghan, Michael, Evan, Timothy, Anna, Ronan and Laura Callahan and Christopher, Daniel and Andrew DAmico and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Mary Alice DeRose, John, Joseph, Edward and James Callahan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Charles Borromeo Building Fund, 736 Church Avenue, Saint Charles, MN 55972.
