Mr. William J. Cox of Waltham, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 82. Born in South Boston, Bill was a World War II veteran who served with the U.S. Army. He was a long standing member of the Woodland Country Club in Newton and an avid golfer. He was also instrumental in bringing the Tall Ships to Boston in 1976. Bill will be fondly remembered for his great wit, his sense of humor and his magnificent voice. He is survived by his wife, Marci Cusano-Cox; his daughter, Carol A. Mazuy and her husband, John of Kingston; his grandchildren, Kelly Williams, Sean Dolan, Dr. Vladimir Bozic, and Alex Bozic; his great-grandchildren, Anderson and Samarie Williams; his son-in-law, Dr. Stan Bozic of Pound Ridge, NY; his sister, Virginia Kohr of Braintree; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was the father of the late Constance L. Bozic, the son of the late William E. and Helen (Marble) Cox, and the brother of the late Marie McAvoy. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be private.
