Waltham – Mr. William F. Cronin, of Waltham, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 73. Born in Stoneham, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Shea) Cronin, Bill was a graduate of Stoneham High School and had attended Northeastern University. He moved to Waltham thirty-one years ago. Bill served with the United States Army and until his retirement he worked as a technical writer for R.C.A. in Burlington. He was a member of the Lexington Elks, the Knights of Columbus and had been a longtime parishioner of Our Lady's Church in Waltham. He leaves his wife, Mary A. (Fay) Cronin; his children, Michael W. Cronin and his wife, Michelle, of Atkinson, New Hampshire, Cynthia C. Nickerson and her husband, Matthew of Columbia, South Carolina, Kathleen M. Cronin of Waltham and Daniel P. Cronin and his wife, Danene, of Salem, one sister, Nancy Saunders of Ocala, Florida; 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Charles Cronin and Colleen Kirby. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
