Waltham Mr. William R. Cusick of Waltham, formerly of Cambridge, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. He was 75. Born and raised in Cambridge, a son of the late Francis and Margaret (Hurst) Cusick, he moved to Waltham 45 years ago. He graduated from Cambridge Latin High School and during the Korean War he served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mount Auburn VFW Post No. 8818. Until his retirement, Mr. Cusick was the longtime manager of the Fresh Pond Golf Course in Cambridge. Before that he worked for many years for the U.S. Post Office at South Station in Boston. Mr. Cusick was the founder of Cambridge Recreation Hockey in the late 1960s, which produced many college and professional hockey players. He leaves his wife, Sarah E. Sally (Parnell) Cusick; his children, Robert A. Cusick and his wife Dana of Waltham, William R. Cusick, Jr. and his wife Dorie Krawiec of Sudbury and Sarah E. Curley and her husband Sean of Waltham; his grandchildren, Jillian, Ryan and Jackson Cusick, Sophie Curley and Jessica Zimbone; two brothers, Paul Cusick of Cambridge and Thomas Cusick of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Francis, Robert, Arthur, Mary and Ursula Cusick, Margaret Kearns, Mildred Hoell and Dorothy Stuart. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patricks Cemetery, Watertown.
