Warren - Mr. William S. LeBlanc, formerly of Waltham, died on Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Harrington Hospital in Southbridge. He was 79.
William Simon LeBlanc was born August 27, 1936 in East Margaree, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada a son of the late William Fidele (aka Willie a Monet) LeBlanc and Cecile Ida (Doucet) LeBlanc. Raised and educated in East Magaree he graduated high school and attended Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia. Bill immigrated to the United States in 1957 settling in Waltham and later to Warren in 1997. He honorably served his country in the United States Army.
He owned and operated the former Middlesex Open Air Market and the Farm Spot, both in Waltham before retiring.
Billy enjoyed the outdoors whether fishing, hunting or his annual apple picks on his orchard in Warren. He enjoyed good game of cards and was always up for a good argument and debate and willingly offered his opinion. He spent summers at his old homestead in East Margaree and enjoyed the friendships from his membership in the French American Victory Club in Waltham.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother, Joseph A. LeBlanc.
He leaves his siblings, John A. LeBlanc and his wife, Lee of Natick, Paul A. LeBlanc and his wife Rosanne of Gloucester and Lucille Marie Lituri and her husband, Mario of Waltham; his seven nieces and nephews, Tracy McMahon, Lisa Morrison, Lela Horiuchi, Leslie LeBlanc, James, Paul and Steven LeBlanc; also survived by many grand-nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bill's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, May 5th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to The Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
