William P. Lee

Waltham – Mr. William P. Lee, of Waltham and Dennisport, died Friday, February 13, 2015 in Lexington. He was 78.

Bill was born in Boston on February 3, 1937, a son of the late Timothy and Marie (Fahey) Lee, and was raised in Dorchester. He served with the United States Navy aboard the submarine U.S.S. Becuna. Until his retirement Bill worked as a general manager for Boston Gas Company.

On January 23, 1960 he married Margaret A. Costello in Saint Mark's Church in Dorchester and the couple called Waltham home for the past forty-three years.

Bill loved the ocean and spending time with his family on Cape Cod. He also enjoyed traveling and had visited fifty-one countries, his favorites being Ireland and Australia.

In addition to his wife of fifty-five years, Margaret, he leaves his children, Michael Lee of Wakefield, Nancy MacDonald and her husband, Scott, of Grafton, William Lee and his wife, Susan, of Hopkinton, and Daniel Lee and his wife, Lisa, of Brighton; his grandchildren, Andrew Lee, Sean MacDonald, Connor MacDonald, Aidan MacDonald, Elizabeth Lee, Bridget Lee, and Olivia Lee; his siblings, Robert Lee and his wife, Beatrice, of Georgia, Richard Lee and his wife, Mary Lou of Sandwich, James Lee and his wife, Mary of Easton, and Mary Lambertson of Arlington; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lee of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was also a brother of the late Patrick and John Lee.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bill's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, February 17th from 4 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services are private.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
