Waltham – Mr. William A. "Bill" McAloon Jr., of Waltham, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in the Neville Center in Cambridge. He was 63.
Bill was born in Cambridge, on October 18, 1952, a son of the late William A., Sr. and Genevieve (Hoell) McAloon. After spending his early years in Cambridge his family moved to Waltham where he graduated from Saint Mary's High School. He attended Northeastern University and left after a time to pursue a career in retail.
During the summers, the family would enjoy annual trips to Cape Cod. In 2012 he and his daughter Brandi fulfilled one of his dreams by traveling to Ireland for his 60th birthday. During his free time, if Bill wasn't watching a Boston sporting event, he could often be found listening to his favorite Bruce Springsteen songs.
Bill leaves his daughter, Brandi Smith and her husband, Greg, of Waltham; his step-daughter, Jayme Zontini of Framingham; his sisters, Maureen Sliney and her husband, Richard, of Franklin, Elaine Joy and her husband, Thomas, of Easton and Joyce McAloon of Foxborough and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bill's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, November 22nd from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
