Framingham Mr. William G. Smith of Framingham, formerly of Waltham, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Brighton. He was 50. Born in Northampton, he had lived in Waltham before moving to Framingham. Bill was a 1994 graduate of the Massachusetts School of Law and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the ACLU. He had a private legal practice in Framingham and was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Phoenix and the Massachusetts School of Law. Bill worked tirelessly for social and economic justice, served as a public defender in Massachusetts family probate courts and a legal consultant for various businesses across the Commonwealth. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard and after retiring, worked for the Coast Guards Aides to Private Navigation. He was also active with the Reagle Players in Waltham. He leaves his wife, Linda M. Warren of Framingham; his mother, Mary (Phillips) Smith of Waltham; one sister, Christine M. LeBlanc and her husband Edmond, of Waltham; one brother, Peter R. Smith and his wife, Paula of Natick; his mother-in-law, Mary Mackiewitz of Framingham; one brother-in-law, Richard Mackiewitz of Brandon, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was also a son of the late George Smith. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday December 11, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist, 24 Vernon Street Framingham, MA 01701. Memorial donations may be made to the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
