Winifred A. Curran

Mrs. Winifred A. (Gotsell) Curran of Waltham died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 in the Harbor House Nursing Center in Hingham. She was 94. Born in Charlestown, Mrs. Curran was a graduate of Charlestown High School. She had lived in Brighton before moving to Waltham in 1977. Mrs. Curran was an Assistant Office Manager for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Everett until her retirement several years ago. Mrs. Curran was the wife of the late Nicholas J. Curran, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Whalen) Gotsell, and the sister of the late Alice M. Kelly, Mary F. Gotsell, Helen M. Curran, and John J. Gotsell, Jr. She is survived by her sister in law, Margaret A. Gotsell of Arlington and her nieces and nephews, Kathleen Garvey of Weymouth, Patricia Milligan of Braintree, Mary Moore of Arlington, Joan Jacobs of Lexington, Elinor Black of Marshfield, Richard Gotsell of North Reading, Jane Smith of York, ME, John Gotsell of Winchester, and Elizabeth Calcaterra of Arlington. The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm.
