Waltham – Mr. Yvon Arsenault, of Waltham, died at home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. He was 87.
Yvon was born in Saint Paul, New Brunswick on December 22, 1925, a son of the late Emile and Domine (Breau) Arsenault. He grew up in Saint Paul and moved to Toronto for a few years before returning home at age twenty-five. He moved to Waltham in 1956 and married Rita Ferrari on December 27, 1960 in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Until his retirement Yvon worked as a machinist for the Daymarc Corporation and before that at the Reece Corporation, both in Waltham.
Yvon and Rita raised their family in Waltham and were longtime members of the French-American Victory Club and Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham and had most recently been parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish. Yvon loved spending time with his family and many of their happiest times together were spent at their summer cottage in Cocagne, New Brunswick.
Besides his wife Rita (Ferrari) Arsenault he leaves his children, Paul Y. Arsenault and his wife, Nuccia, of Sudbury, Charles E. Arsenault and his wife, Lynne, of Westboro and Claudette LeBlanc and her husband, Ronald, of Charlton; his grandchildren, Nico, Peter and Julia Arsenault and David, Daniel and Dennis LeBlanc; his siblings, Leo Arsenault of Notre Dame, New Brunswick, Roger Arsenault of Moncton New Brunswick, Rita Cormier of Waltham and Irma Drew of Moncton, New Brunswick and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Elze, Zoel, Louis, Alfred, Herve and Domice Arsenault.
Family and friends will honor and remember Yvon's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, November 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
