Yvonne Martin

Mrs. Yvonne (Richard) Martin, of Waltham, died Friday, October 8, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 87.

Yvonne was born in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada on November 19, 1922, a daughter of the late Livian and Genevieve (Maillet) Richard, and had lived in Waltham since 1955. Yvonne worked for many years at Fisher Scientific in Waltham as an assembler, and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening, bowling and sewing.

She leaves her husband of 59 years, Cleophas ‘Cliff ’ Martin; her children, Theresa Magliano and her husband, Ed, of Nashua, New Hampshire, and Thelma Arsenault and her husband, Joseph, of Billerica; her grandchildren, Christopher Bernardi and his wife, Sarah, James Bernardi and Paul Rollo and his wife Lauren; her great-grandchildren, Ella, Will, Brookelyn, and Tyler. Also survived by Mike Bernardi and his wife, Ellen, and Paul Bernardi all of Waltham.


Family and friends will honor and remember Yvonne’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
