Zenaida "Sandy" Penedo

Waltham - Mrs. Zenaida 'Sandy' (Dominguez) Penedo, of Waltham, died Wednesday August 16, 2006 in her home. She was 81. Born in Havana, Cuba a daughter of the late Carlos and Marina (Sanches) Dominguez, she worked for many years as a senior interviewer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Employment Security. She was the mother of the late Emilio Penedo and sister of the late Eduardo Dominguez. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gustavo Penedo and she was the beloved mother of Gus Penedo and his wife, Marci, of Framingham, Marlene Monnar of Salem, New Hampshire, George Penedo and his wife, Tina, of East Bridgewater, and Marina Del Carmen Penedo of Waltham. She was the cherished and adoring abuela of Robert and his wife, Kim, Marc, Jeffrey, Melissa, Marina, Jared, Ronnie, Shane, Tyler, and Marissa. Sandy was also a dear sister of Jesus and Aurelio Dominguez of Havana, Cuba and Sonia Arcia of Miami, Florida. She also leaves several dear nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
